The fleet

Engineering, itemized.

Each car is a closed-loop experiment in aerodynamics, powertrain integration, and chassis stiffness. Spec sheets below are structured for a future Sanity CMS — swap the mock provider, keep the blocks.

Current

GSV-01

Downforce without drama.

Current competition package. A steel-tube chassis with a focused aero map, a tightly packaged powertrain, and manufacturing tolerances treated as a design constraint rather than a post-process.

Aerodynamics

Dirty-air stall on the rear wing

Problem. Early CFD showed the beam wing starving the main plane above 12° yaw, collapsing rear downforce exactly where drivers need confidence.

Solution. Reshaped endplate fences, added a gurney with a defined gap, and validated a yaw sweep from −15° to +15° before freezing geometry.

Result. Rear downforce variation across yaw reduced 31% in the correlated CFD set.

Powertrain

Heat soak in a 20 mm restrictor package

Problem. Intake air temperature climbed 18°C after three autocross laps, flattening the torque curve and knocking the AFR off target.

Solution. Relocated the restrictor, added a short ram-air duct with a heat shield, and retuned VE tables against a wideband log.

Result. Intake delta held under 7°C across a full endurance stint simulation.

Chassis

Torsion vs. packaging conflict

Problem. A stiff hoop layout collided with driver egress and harness geometry.

Solution. Moved the main hoop braces outboard, added a triangulation node at the seat-back bulkhead, and re-ran FEA with enforced displacement cases.

Result. Stiffness target met with a 1.4 kg mass penalty instead of a 4.1 kg full redesign.

Retired

GSV-X

The car that taught us manufacturing.

Manufacturing

Weld distortion on the rear bulkhead

Problem. Jigging sequence allowed the rear bulkhead to walk 3.2 mm, destroying suspension geometry.

Solution. Introduced a welded fixture plate, stitch-weld procedure, and CMM check before unclamping.

Result. Geometry scatter dropped inside 0.4 mm; process now standard on GSV-01.

Electronics

Unreliable kill-switch loop

Problem. A single-path shutdown circuit failed technical inspection twice.

Solution. Dual-redundant shutdown with documented voltage drop tests and labeled harness drawings.

Result. Passed inspection on first attempt the following season.
